Lakerveld Racing duo determines the course of the women's race
The two ladies of the Lakerveld Racing team, Britt Jans-Beken and Amber Simons, determined the competition in the women's class during the MON 24 NK motocross Well. The day's victory went to Jans-Beken with two heat victories. Second place goes to Cynthia Swets (photo) with a third and second place in the heats. Kaylee van Dam finished fifth and third in the heats and took third place on the podium. Lynn Kelders and Stacey Nooijens completed the top 5.
First heat
It was Amber Simons who came through the first round on top. She was followed by Jans-Beken, Swets Kelders and van Dam. The Lakerveld Racing team ladies Jans-Beken and Simons quickly proved to be a size too big for the rest of the field. Jans-Beken took over the lead on the second lap and quickly built up a lead. Simons in turn quickly outpaced Swets. However, in the fifth round Jans-beken crashed and it was Simons who came through first. Jans-Beken had to do everything he could to catch up with Simons. Kelders had a difficult initial phase and fell back before starting to rise. She passed van Dam and started chasing Swets. In the ninth round she managed to take over third place. In the last lap Jans-Beken had come back to just behind Simons, who seemed to win the heat. However, Simons fell due to a straggler and the heat victory went to Jans-Beken. Simons lost a lot of time and Kelders and Swets were also able to benefit from this and crossed the finish line in second and third. Simons had to make do with the eventual fourth place ahead of van Dam.
Second heat
Simons did not feel well and did not start the second heat. With this, what little resistance there was for Jans-Beken also disappeared. She led the field from start to finish and managed to double the entire field. Swets was second, but had to leave second place to Van Dam for a few laps. She managed to fight back and passed van Dam again to cross the finish line in second. The heat was dramatic for Lynn Kelders. In the fifth round she lost more than 3 minutes and saw a podium place go up in smoke. Almost the entire field passed her by. Both Nooijens and Noor Geurkink benefited from this and finished fourth and fifth.
