Market value of Arminas Jasikonis on the rise!
Assomotor Honda's Arminas Jasikonis (20) was the revelation of the MXGP season last year. The young Lithuanian came 2nd in a qualifying race and finished on the podium in Portugal. However, in the US GP, the sympathetic powerhouse suffered a dislocated hip and to make matters worse, his team, Suzuki World MXGP, quit. Now Jasikonis is making himself heard again.
Despite minimal preparation and the adjustment to a new (private) team, things are going better for Arminas. Even though he lacks good starts, 'Shorty' has repeatedly shown that he has top-10 speed. Taking into account his potential and the circumstances - such as a very strong field of competitors - Jasikonis' performance does not go unnoticed in the paddock.
Some interesting MXGP contracts expire at the end of this year and the AssoMotor Honda rider is on more than one shortlist. Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team manager Antti Pyrhonen is said to be very charmed by Jasikonis. To be continued!
