Technology: The multifunctional character of the Dunlop Geomax AT82
Dunlop has always been an innovator of tires for motocross use. The brand new Geomax AT82 is a good example of this because Dunlop sells this tire as a multi-purpose tire. This is because its function changes when you reverse the running direction of the rear tire.
Tires that score well on every surface do not exist, but with this type Dunlop is trying to bring a tire to the market that can be used virtually anywhere by reversing the direction of travel.
This is what Dunlop says:
- Reduces button distortion for better handling and performance.
- Works on soft terrain and loamy soil.
- Works in a mix of hard and loose soil.
- Works in harsh conditions.
The new tread pattern at the front provides more grip and predictability under load. The new rear pattern provides more grip and consistency while cornering. The new Progressive Cornering Block Technology (PCBT) design in both the front and rear tires reduces knob distortion for better handling and performance. Improved damping and shock absorption thanks to the new profile and construction.
When you change the mounting direction
The new bi-directional rear profile is optimized for both soft and hard terrain by simply changing the mounting direction. The updated pattern and button design provide greater durability. When the tire is mounted in such a way that the center stud with the V-shape faces the direction of travel, the tire is suitable for soft surfaces and sand. Conversely, the tire is suitable for hard surfaces.
This Geomax AT82 is now available at your local motocross dealer.
