Prado on pole, Herlings third behind Gajser
For the second time this year, Jorge Prado can start from pole position. The GasGas driver wins the qualifying race during the third Grand Prix of the season. The Spaniard wins ahead of Tim Gajser and Jeffrey Herlings.
The sprint to the first corner is won by Jeremy Seewer, the Swiss takes the lead ahead of Prado, Gajser, Herlings and Cornelius Toendel. There are problems for Romain Febvre as he crashes in the first round only to come to a standstill later in the race. Seewer makes a mistake at the front, allowing Prado to take the lead. Gajser can quickly move into second place, but the 23-year-old leader builds up a lead of up to eight seconds. Halfway through the race, Herlings manages to take over third place from Seewer. The Swiss finishes fourth ahead of Pauls Jonass.
Tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 PM and 17:00 PM, both heats will be held at the Riola Sardo circuit. The images can be viewed LIVE via Eurosport 2, MXGP-TV.com, the Discovery Plus streaming service and the Belgian Play Sports! The NOS only has the MXGP images and these are broadcast via the website.
