Hayden Statt wins at the Eurocircuit
After years of absence, the Eurocircuit is back on the motocross calendar. The second race of the EMX85 'Central Europe' was held on the multiple GP circuit. The big winner was Hayden Statt because the Briton won both heats. Kenzo Jaspers (2-2) and Bertram Thorius (3-3) were allowed to climb onto the podium.
1e some
Jaspers takes the best start in the first heat and the Brabander can hold the lead for almost ten minutes. Then Statt passes by, who had a nice duel with fellow countryman Robbie Daly in the early stages of the match. After a good start, Thorius crashed briefly in the third lap, causing the Dane to drop back to ninth place. He then set a very good pace, allowing the RB 2Fast Motorsport Junior Racing driver to pass compatriot Storm Maymann for third place just before the final lap. Maymann comes fourth ahead of Daly. Keano Maris is sixth and after a difficult start Jannes Vos manages to come back to eighth place. Torre Van Mechgelen (10th), Kay Zijlstra (12th), Jenairo Beerens (13th) and Jeremy Bouchee (19th) also managed to get into the points in this round.
2e some
When the starting gate for the second heat drops, Statt reacts best and immediately takes the lead. Jaspers follows ahead of the German Simon Hahn. The top three takes shape very quickly, but in the final phase 13-year-old Thorius manages to take over third place from the fallen Hahn. The Kosak rider also sees fellow countryman Oliver Jüngling pass, putting Hahn in fifth ahead of Vos. Van Mechgelen again crosses the finish line in tenth, Zijlstra is eleventh, while Bouchee (13th) and Beerens (16th) now also score. In the first round, Brian Gyles, riding in Belgian service, finished ninth. In the second moto he crashes at the start, but the Veidec Miba MX Team rider comes back to 21st place, which unfortunately means he doesn't score any points.
The last regional competition is on May 18-19 in Reutlingen, the semi-finals will be held on June 29-30 at the Siauliai circuit in Lithuania.
