Febvre takes pole, Coldenhoff third ahead of Herlings
Romain Febvre took pole position during the fourth race of the FIM MXGP World Championship. The Kawasaki rider wins the qualifying race ahead of Tim Gajser and Glenn Coldenhoff. With a fourth place, Jeffrey Herlings does well despite painful ribs. There are problems for Jorge Prado who loses his saddle and has to make a pit stop. The World Cup leader returns to seventeenth place despite losing the saddle again!
When the starting gate drops, Febvre reacts best and the Frenchman takes the lead ahead of Prado, Coldenhoff and Valentin Guillod. Pauls Jonass starts the race sixth behind Herlings, but the Honda rider quickly takes over fifth place. Just before the first lap is completed, Prado gets into trouble because he has lost his saddle! The GasGas driver must enter the pits where the mechanic carries out the repair with duct tape. Coldenhoff rides in second place for a while but Gajser passes by but Febvre has already disappeared from view. The Fantci rider finished third ahead of Herlings, who managed to pass Jonass again in the final minutes of the race. The 2 MX2017 world champion loses fifth place to Jeremy Seewer in the final stages. Behind Jonass, Calvin Vlaanderen crosses the finish line in seventh place. Brian Bogers has been in the top ten for a long time, but has to settle for twelfth place. Roan van de Moosdijk sends his Honda to 28th place.
Tomorrow afternoon at 14:00 PM and 17:00 PM, both heats will be held on the Arco di Trento circuit. The images can be viewed LIVE via Eurosport 2, MXGP-TV.com, the Discovery Plus streaming service and the Belgian Play Sports! The NOS only has the MXGP images and these are broadcast via the website.
