Gyan Doensen seizes power in Oldebroek
Gyan Doensen won the second race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 125cc without many problems. The 15-year-old rider managed to win both heats on the Oldebroek circuit. Thanks to this victory, the Racestore KTM rider takes over the lead in the standings. With one race to go, the Swalmen native has a nine-point lead over Markuss Ozolins. At 'Circuit De Bargen' Ozolins (3-2) finished second ahead of Cole McCullough (2-3).
1e some
In time training Doensen was slightly faster than McCullough, but in the first heat there is no doubt. Dex Kooiker takes the best start ahead of Pelle Gundersen and Doensen. The Limburger quickly takes the lead and wins by a wide margin. McCullough rode in second place ahead of Bervoets for the entire race. However, GasGas driver Ozolins comes on strong from the backfield and manages to displace Bervoets from the podium in the final minutes. The Belgian MJC Yamaha rider is good for fourth place ahead of teammate Dani Heitink. Heitink from neighboring Kamperveen did not have the best start in front of his own audience, but the 85cc World Champion is coming back strongly to complete the top five. The Swede Freddie Bartlett (Team Motovation Motorsport) crosses the finish line in sixth place ahead of Dean Gregoire. The Voss KTM Racing rider held fourth place for the first half of the race until he crashed briefly. The 13-year-old rider finished seventh ahead of Raivo Laicans (JJ Racers), Maxime Lucas (Tech32) and Latvian Yamaha rider Jēkabs Kubuliņš. A setback for Kasimir Hindersson, the winner of the first race in Harfsen, will not finish this first heat!
2e some
Just like two weeks ago in Harfsen, Gregoire takes the best start in the second heat. The KTM rider is followed by Doensen Gundersen, Ozolins and McCullough. At the end of the first lap, leader Gregoire makes a mistake and falls. Doensen takes over the lead and the Limburger then controls the match. Ozolins, the counterpart of Janis Reisulis in his younger years, rode in second place for the entire race. McCullough is able to pass Gundersen early in the match and the top four is therefore known. Bervoets gets into trouble and Hindersson also gets acquainted with the sand. Douwe Van Mechgelen crashed briefly in the first heat, but now the Belgian remains seated on the Fantic. The cross rider from Arendonk completes the top five ahead of Heitink who has a very nice final sprint. The Yamaha rider managed to finish sixth. Hindersson finished seventh and managed to score some points ahead of Jayson van Drunen (SHR Motorsport), Kubuliņš and Gregoire completed the top ten.
Next time:
The third and final race of this championship will be held in three weeks, which will take place at the Markelo circuit.
