Kitchen in the lead from start to finish
In Seattle, Levi Kitchen won the sixth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX West Coast. The Kawasaki rider was in the lead from start to finish. RJ Hampshire finished second ahead of Jo Shimoda. Jordon Smith did not get further than fourteenth place, which means Hampshire takes over second place in the standings, just eight points behind leader Kitchen!
In the final over 25 minutes and 1 lap, Kitchen makes the best start ahead of Julien Beaumer and Michael Mosiman who makes his Star Racing debut. His teammates Smith and Nate Trasher complete the top five, followed by Hampshire. Smith can pass Beaumer quite quickly, but Hampshire needs time to do so. When he takes third place, his predecessors have already built up a safe lead. With less than four minutes to go, Smith crashes hard, allowing Hampshire to gain one spot again. However, the victory goes to Kitchen who takes the victory in front of his own audience. Hampshire comes second ahead of Shimoda, who fell for a while, but the Honda rider still comes back very strongly. Garrett Marchbanks is fourth ahead of Carson Mumford.
Next week the 'West Coast' will be in action again, this will happen in “The Dome at America's Center” in Saint Louis.
