Gajser takes pole, Herlings, the best lowlander, in sixth
The first RAM Qualifying Race of this season was won by Tim Gajser. The Honda rider wins the race over 20 minutes and two laps in Villa La Angostura ahead of Romain Febvre and Pauls Jonass. Fourth place goes to Jorge Prado and Maxime Renaux, Jeffrey Herlings crosses the finish line in sixth. Calvin Vlaanderen is good for ninth place and Glenn Coldenhoff is twelfth and Lars van Berkel is good for nineteenth place. Jago Geerts and Brent Van Doninck do not reach the finish.
At the start, several riders crash to the ground, including both Belgians, Ruben Fernandez, Isak Gifting and Alberto Forato. Gajser controls the race and is in the lead for the entire race ahead of Febvre and Jonass. Renaux holds fourth place for the first half of the race, but Prado takes over this place. Herlings has to deal with Ivo Monticelli, but the Brabander finishes sixth.
Tomorrow afternoon at 17:00 PM and 20:00 PM (European time), both heats will be held on the Villa La Angostura circuit.
