Liam Everts triumphs in Mantova
Liam Everts has made a great start to the season and won the MX2 race in Mantova. Tim Gajser won the MX1 class, just like in Riola Sardo, and in the 125cc it was Gyan Doensen who outpaced everyone. The circuit had to deal with a lot of water on Friday and Saturday and was very difficult today.

The holeshot in the first series went to Ferruccio Zanchi, but a corner later Liam Everts shot in and took the lead from the young Italian HRC Honda rider. Then it was Oriol Oliver and Andrea Adamo who passed on third and fourth. Simon Langenfelder had a mediocre start and had to make up quite a few positions.
Then Zanchi made a mistake and took Adamo with him in his fall, which suddenly increased Everts' lead. At the finish he had a 13 second lead over Zanchi. Oliver came third.
Andrea Adamo was the fastest starter in heat two. With Valerio Lata and Liam Everts just behind him, it became very exciting at the front. The heavy rain that had fallen the days before left miserably deep ruts. Adamo soon made a mistake that allowed Lata to take the lead. Everts was now second. Halfway through, Everts had enough and took over the lead from Lata.
The Italian continued to follow closely and Adamo also came to the front to play a word. With a few minutes of racing left, Everts cannot avoid a fallen rider and has to let Adamo pass. Adamo wins the series ahead of Everts who takes the win with a first and second place. Zanchi did not get any points in this heat and had to give up.
Simon Laengenfelder took the overall victory in this international Italian diptych.
MX1
Tim Gajser was the first to leave the starting gate and never looked back. Ruben Fernandez and Isak Gifting followed in his footsteps. Jago Geerts crashed in the second corner and had to start from 23th fight back instead. It was the Kawasaki tandem Febvre and Seewer who tried to close the gap on Fernandez. After a few laps, Geerts had already advanced to P15.
With 2 minutes left on the clock Febvre had hit Fernandez's rear wheel but he took no chances on the rutted circuit and finished third in the first heat after Gajser and Fernandez. Geerts was still 9de.
Romain Febvre took the holeshot in heat two while Tim Gajser crashed and had to chase. Jan Pancar and Ruben Fernandez were second and third after the start. Jago Geerts was also now involved in the skirmishes and had to resume his race at the rear around 34th place. Tim Gajser then raced through the field of participants and was already in P7 after fifteen minutes. New Kawasaki rider Jeremy Seewer was spotted third at the time.
With four minutes left on the clock, Gajser had advanced to fourth place and when he passed Seewer, the Swiss wanted to counter but crashed. Febvre wins the race ahead of Gajser who claims the day's victory as well as the overall victory in the International Italian Championship.
