Triumph debuts in Europe and the US this weekend
Triumph Motorcycles will complete its first competition meters this weekend on their newly developed TF 250-X. In the summer of 2021, the news was announced by Ricky Carmichael that the brand is moving into motocross. This weekend their teams will debut at the first round of the Spanish Championship and the East Coast 250SX Supercross in the US.
The first MXGP isn't until March, but Triumph is already making their big debut in motocross this weekend, albeit at a lower level. Mikkel Haarup and Camden McLellan will take part in the opening round of the Spanish Championship in Talavera de la Reina.
Spanish Championship
McLellan and Haarup are under contract to participate in the MX2 World Championship. McLellan has moved from JM Honda, while Haarup is now back in a factory seat after riding with DRT Kawasaki and WZ KTM last year. The pair have completed many laps during the preseason in Spain and so we are looking forward to the performance of the two in Spain. The duo is under the watchful eye of Clément Desalle who played a key role in the development of the engine.
East Coast 250SX Detroit
Jalek Swoll and Evan Ferry will now be in action on Saturday in Detroit for the British brand. Swoll has made the switch from Factory Husqvarna, while Ferry is making the switch from amateur to professional racing. Joey Savatgy is also under contract, but we won't see him again until the AMA Nationals.
