Trasher washes away the bad taste with champagne
The games in Anaheim and San Francisco were very difficult for Nate Trasher. The Yamaha rider only managed to score five points, but he recovered in San Diego. The third round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX West Coast was won by Trasher! Next to him were Garrett Marchbanks and Jordon Smith on stage. Smith has the lead in the standings, eight points ahead of Levi Kitchen.
Rainy conditions again in the USA, but fortunately not as extreme as last week! The final at the Snapdragon Stadium is started by RJ Hampshire who gets the best start ahead of Mitchell Oldenburg and Marchbanks. However, the Team Club MX rider comes out of the first corner unbalanced and falls. Kitchen came out of the first corner fifth behind Ryder DiFrancesco, but the Kawasaki rider is in a hurry. He manages to connect with leader Hampshire, but he is unable to take over the lead. Kitchen goes down and falls back. Marchbanks drives a great race and takes the lead halfway through the race after Hampshire makes a mistake. The winner of the first match also sees Trasher pass a little later. Marchbanks seems to be on his way to victory, but a straggler throws a spanner in the works. Trasher takes advantage and after he takes control he does not relinquish it. Marchbanks gets another attack from Hampshire but the Husqvarna rider goes down! Marchbanks comes second ahead of Smith, completing Yamaha's success. Jo Shimoda comes fourth for Kitchen and Hampshire.
Next week the championship returns to Anaheim for the first 'Triple Crown' of the season.
