Closure of Lille: Politician Gie Knockaert steps aside
The dossier surrounding the closure of the motocross terrain “Breugelheide” in Lille arouses many emotions. Today it was announced that one of the complainants was a politician from the governing party Inzet (ex-Green). Gie Knockaert, together with another complainant and VZW Natuurpunt, went to the Council for Permit Disputes, resulting in the immediate closure of the circuit.
This can be read today in an article from the website of Het Nieuwsblad. The action of Knockaert apparently also came in as a surprise upon deployment.
"From our group we regret this decision and we sympathize enormously with the affected club and its many members"Is a statement of deployment. “We were therefore surprised that one of the "objections" was our chairman Gie. He emphasizes that he acted as a legal person of his own name and does not play the vision of the party Lille. Our party very much regrets this state of affairs, just like Gie itself."
