Coldenhoff and Van De Moosdijk in Shot Race Gear
Shot Race Gear is pleased to announce a long-term partnership with the newly formed Fantic Factory Racing MXGP team. The Dutch top team will participate in the 2024 MXGP world championship with multiple GP winner Glenn Coldenhoff and former EMX250 champion Roan van de Moosdijk. Both will make their racing debut in Shot during the opening Internazionali d'Italia race in Riola Sardo in early February.
After a successful first season, the collaboration between Shot and Fantic Motorcycles shifts into a higher gear with an entry into the MXGP. With 37 podium places from 27 GPs in the past two seasons, the team of team owner Louis Vosters is also ready for a new challenge. Shot will provide riders with the acclaimed Aerolite racing clothing and quality body protection.
Crowd favorite Glenn Coldenhoff, 32, claimed five podium finishes on his way to fourth place in his 2023 MXGP campaign. Although 'The Hoff' is known as one of the fastest sand riders in the world, he made a name for himself by dominating the MX of Nations individually in 2018 and 2019.
Despite an injury, Roan van de Moosdijk ended his MX2 career on a positive note with two podium finishes and a moto win. The strong Dutchman has found the perfect platform in the Fantic XXF 450 to utilize his MXGP potential. At 23, Roan is ready to start a new chapter in his career.
Former vice world champion Kevin Strijbos, coach of Romain Febvre for the past two seasons, has been recruited to guide Coldenhoff and Van De Moosdijk on and off the bike.
Although the crew of Louis Vosters and team manager Vitaliy Tonkov changed manufacturers in the off-season, the ambitions remain the same. Building on their already impressive track record, each team member is keen to consolidate their place at the top.
Glenn Coldenhoff: “I was already a Shot athlete at the beginning of my GP career, so it is nice to be part of the Shot Race Gear family again. It's great to see how Shot has improved since those early days! So when I tried out the new equipment for the first time, it was a nice surprise. The fit, appearance and look are really great. I can't wait to show off all the cool colors we have in store for this season.”
Roan van de Moosdijk: “I feel like the 450 bike really suits me and that's a relief compared to MX2, where my height was a disadvantage. It is an honor to take on my new challenge together with Shot in the toughest MX competition in the world. The gear sets look great and feel very comfortable!”
Louis Vosters, team owner: “After seeing Shot in GPs for so long, this new collaboration already feels familiar. Our riders look great in their new clothing and you can just tell the attention to detail in all the technical features! Everything is ready for a strong 2024 season. We look forward to embarking on this new adventure together with all our partners and fans.”
Mariano Roman, CEO of Fantic Motor: “Building an elite racing program is synonymous with bringing together world-class partners. We are proud to continue our successful journey with Shot Race gear in MXGP. At Fantic we are inspired to provide riders with ultimate motorcycle performance and fun. We can't wait to discover new ways to do that together with Shot.”
Ghislain Huot, CEO Shot Race Gear: “We are excited to expand our partnership with Fantic Motorcycles and join forces with the Fantic Factory Racing MXGP team. The communal fit couldn't be better! Louis Vosters has put together a group of highly driven people who all share our passion for top performance. We have some exciting projects in the works with Fantic, Glenn and Roan in 2024!”
