Jordi Tixier wins again the first evening
The first evening of the ADAC Supercross in Dortmund was won by Jordi Tixier, just like last year. The Honda rider managed to win the final ahead of fellow countrymen Cédric Soubeyras and Greg Aranda! In the SX2 the victory went to Maxime Desprey, there too a completely French podium thanks to Calvin Fonvielle and Yannis Irsuti. The SX4 (65cc) race was won by Felix Siegl, son of former motocross rider Daniel Siegl!
SX1:
In the final, Thomas Ramette takes the best start ahead of Harri Kullas and Tixier. Not a good start for the leader in the standings, Aranda starts the 20 lap race outside the top five. In the first full lap, Tixier takes second place from Kullas, who then loses more and more places. Ramette can set the pace, but when Aranda takes over fourth place, it is Tixier who increases the pace. Tixier sees his first attack succeed and he takes over the lead. However, Aranda encounters resistance from Soubeyras who passes him back. Adrien Escoffier has now taken over second place from Ramette and not much later he sees 'Soubs' and Aranda pass. Both also track down Escoffier, but Tixier cannot be retrieved. The former MX2 world champion won the first evening just like last year. Soubeyras comes second ahead of Aranda who makes too many mistakes but he is thinking about the title fight. Escoffier comes fourth ahead of Boris Maillard, making it a French top five.
SX2:
Just like last year on Friday evening, Calvin Fonvielle takes the best start. The Frenchman, on the Sarholz-KTM, is followed by Desprey who suffered a serious injury last year during the first evening in the Westfalenhallen. To the delight of the crowd, Nico Koch had a good start and finished the first lap in third place. He then attacks the leaders and manages to pass them both! After two laps, Koch is the new leader, followed by no fewer than eight Frenchmen. On the third lap Desprey takes the lead after which he quickly distances himself. Koch manages to hold his own for a long time, but in the second half of the race he loses places. Fonvielle and Irsuti pass the Becker Racing driver who then manages to hold his ground. Desprey quickly built up a safe lead and he wins ahead of Fonvielle and Irsuti. Boris Blanken is the only Dutchman in this field, unfortunately he does not qualify for the evening program.
