What will it be for Marvin Musquin in 2024?
Was the 2023 season Marvin Musquin's last season as a professional driver in the American Championship? The 33-year-old Frenchman does not have a contract until 2024. But that does not mean he has retired.
“I have no plans at the moment,” Musquin recently told our colleagues at MX Action mag. “Last season I arrived on opening day in Anaheim in good shape, but I was unlucky because I got injured shortly afterwards. It was a long recovery and when I came back the season was pretty much over because I only had a Supercross contract with KTM.”
“After that, during the summer, not much happens,” continues the former MX2 world champion. “So I took the opportunity to spend some time with my daughter and my wife. All this means that I don't have a program for next season yet, but I have to say that I'm not pushing either. “But I don't like to say I'm retired, but I want to be clear: I don't have a contract until 2024.”
Does this mean we won't see Musquin racing again? The Frenchman remains open to certain appearances. “I get on well with the KTM team though, I have been working with them for 15 years this year and maybe I will participate in some races, we will see. What is certain is that preparing for a championship as I have been doing for more than 15 years is not in my plans at the moment,” he explains.
On whether he would consider a return to France: “No, our home now is California. My daughter was born here, so we feel at home in the US. But of course we also like to spend time in France. My family and many friends live in France, so we love going there for a few weeks or even a few months, but our home is here in California!
