Team England wins Farleigh Castle Vets MX, Belgians honorably second
The English team of Ryan Voase, Brad Anderson, Jamie Law and Kris Winder have won the 2023 Farleigh Castle Vets MX edition. The big pacesetter of this British success was Brad Anderson who won all four heats. The Belgians rode a very solid two-day event, but had to acknowledge the supremacy of Anderson and his companions.
Qualification had to take place on Saturday and a first series was already held for the national teams. Even then, the English team showed that they were not going to make it easy for the Belgians. Brad Anderson, ex-European champion, won the series. The Belgian team led by Danny Scheers did well with a fourth place for David Segers, a seventh place for Patrick Caps, an eleventh place for Laurent Lacasse and a 22nd place for Wim Couwberghs.
On Sunday the Belgians did even better and worked hard to minimize the gap to the British. However, it did not make any difference, the English team rode strongly and flawlessly. Brad Anderson won the three remaining series with his teammate Ryan Voase, who was also always within the top five. For example, Team England won the 2023 edition ahead of the Belgians and Team Wales. The next major vintage event should have been the RSP Classic in Arco di Trento on October 7 and 8, but due to organizational problems this beautiful race has unfortunately been canceled.
