Successful return for Thomas-Kjer Olsen
Former MX2 vice world champion Thomas-Kjer Olsen (26) was at the start of a race for the first time last weekend. The tall Dane had a serious fall during the Latvian GP last year and had to recuperate for a long time. Domestically, however, TKO took part in the fifth round of the Danish MX1 championship on Saturday.
Olsen had been back training for a while with the support of the Negaan Husqvarna factory team and manager Rasmus Jorgensen. Taking a seat behind the starting gate again was understandably a big step for Thomas. Enjoying riding was paramount and with a tenth place in the final standings, Olsen showed that he has not forgotten how to cross!
The ex-GP winner has no ambitions for a return to the highest level. Mathias Jorgensen was the best in the MX1 in Esbjerg. The Yamaha rider finished ahead of Nichlas Bjerregaard and Glen Meier.
