MX2 Sweden: Win for Simon Längenfelder, Everts now 2nd in the standings
Simon Längenfelder wins the Swedish GP with a series victory and a second place. Andrea Adamo won the second heat in an exciting final sprint with Längenfelder. Liam Everts is now on the podium again and came second in this GP. He is now also second in the World Cup standings.
The conditions were a lot better during this second series after the sun and some circuit preparation had done wonders for the surface. Kevin Horgmo resolutely took the lead with Andrea Adamo and Simon Längenfelder in his wake. Rick Elzinga had a mediocre start from the starting gate and passed in tenth place after one lap.
After a few laps, Liam Everts was fifth and the Spaniard tried to outwit David Braceras. Sacha Coenen had started well but lost a few places and had to start from 7de place to make progress. There was another crash for Sacha Coenen, which caused him to drop to P9. Längenfelder then appeared on Adamo's rear wheel while Everts passed Braceras and took P4.
Andrea Adamo touched the rear wheel of leader Kevin Horgmo halfway through the race and took over the position from the Norwegian. A little later Längenfelder also came over Horgmo. It was now up to Liam Everts to close the gap and try to get third place. With 5 minutes left on the clock, the Lummen native appeared at the rear wheel of the Kawasaki. Suddenly Everts came alongside and at that same moment Horgmo's machine broke down.
With two laps to go, the umbrellas had to be opened again due to a new gust of rain that passed over Uddevalla. Adamo won the series with just a few meters ahead of Längenfelder. The latter wins the Swedish GP ahead of Liam Everts and Andrea Adamo. Liam Everts is advancing further in the standings and is now second, 80 points behind leader Andrea Adamo.
In the corridors we also heard that Uddevalla signed an agreement with Infront Moto Racing for the next three years.
