MXGP Qualifying: Jorge Prado wins with his fingers in his nose
Spanish gasGas rider Jorge Prado wins another qualifying heat. He was able to hold off Tim Gajser and Jeremy Seewer in Uddevalla. Jeffrey Herlings came fourth. Prado wins a qualifying series for the tenth time this year.
The holeshot was once again reserved for blitz starter Jorge Prado, with Tim Gajser and Jeffrey Herlings in his wake. Man of the moment Romain Febvre came fourth from the starting grid. Maxime Renaux, who returned, was tenth after a few laps. On lap four, Jeremy Seewer passed over Herlings to take third place from The Bullet.
Herlings had no rest because he also had Romain Febvre on his roof. Febvre took advantage of some small mistakes by Herlings and took over P4 from the Dutchman. Jorge Prado had already gained five seconds on Tim Gajser after five laps. Then the rear of Febvre's Kawasaki broke away, causing the Frenchman to fall. Herlings took Fevbre's place again and rode back to P4.
With only a minute left in the race, Febvre reappeared on the Red Bull KTM rider's rear wheel. But he now defended his line, so the Frenchman could hardly hide his frustrations. As a result, he started making mistakes and lost touch with Jeffrey Herlings. Jorge Prado wins the qualifying series unopposed ahead of Tim Gajser and Jeremy Seewer.
The first series will be held tomorrow at 13:15 PM.
