VIDEO: The match in Lommel according to Tim Gajser
The Slovenian defending champion Tim Gajser had announced in advance that the MXGP of Lommel came too early to deliver top performances. This became apparent during the heats as Gajser scored a 15th and 13th place.
Tim Gajser: "I went into the races today with a better feeling than yesterday and I started the first race very well. Unfortunately on the first lap the rider in front of me lost control a bit and I hit his rear wheel. When I tried to get up, I hit my hand on the exhaust pipe and suffered a severe burn. I was in pain for the rest of the race and struggled to really push as coming back from last place was difficult. In race two the pain wasn't that bad and I did well again at the start of the race, but a small mistake put me back in the field. I fought my way back to 13th, so all in all it wasn't a good result, but it's another block in my recovery process and I'll keep building."
To view a series through the eyes of a top cross rider, a helmet camera is ideal. That's why we're crawling on TiGa243's neck and participating in Saturday's qualifying heat.
