MXGP Lommel: Fourth victory in a row for incomparable Romain Febvre
French Kawasaki rider Romain Febvre won the Belgian Grand Prix today in Lommel, Limburg. He won the first series and came second in the revival. It is already the fourth victory in a row for the Frenchman who is persistently trying to reduce his deficit to Jorge Prado.
In this second series the holeshot went to Ruben Fernandez. Jeremy Seewer immediately took over and led the field. Then it was HRC Honda rider Fernandez and Jorge Prado who came through in second and third place.
Glenn Coldenhoff and Calvin Vlaanderen were fourth and fifth after a few laps. Romain Febvre had a bad start this time, but it was certainly worth following him because he went like crazy. A 15de he quickly changed his position to a 7de and that in just three rounds.
Prado was able to get over leader Seewer and got the right vibe again after a poor first series. Once again, a great Jeremy Van Horebeek was busy because he rode another nice series within the top ten. Febvre continued to maintain a tight pace and was already in fourth place after 15 minutes of the race.
At the front, Prado had pulled away from Seewer by 7 seconds. Febvre was then able to overtake Coldenhoff and took P3. However, in order to win the GP he still had to get past Seewer. In the 11de round he managed to get alongside the Swiss. Romain Febvre almost touched the rear wheel of leader Prado, but the series was too short. Jorge Prado wins the second series ahead of the Frenchman. Febvre wins the competition in Lommel with a victory and a second place. He wins his fourth GP in a row. Coldenhoff hit his teammate Seewer in the final minutes. On stage, Romain Febvre is flanked by Jorge Prado and Glenn Coldenhoff.
Next week there will be a new confrontation with the MXGP of Finland in Vantaa.
