MX2 Loket: Geerts also the best in the Czech Republic
Jago Geerts has had a great GP of the Czech Republic. With a series win and a third place, he creeps closer to Andrea Adamo's leading position. The Jag now moves up to third place in the standings. The difference between him and leader Adamo is still 40 points.
In the second series, Red Bull GasGas driver Simon Laengenfelder was the first to leave the starting gate. Mike Gwerder and Sacha Coenen, who started well again, followed in his footsteps. Jago Geerts had started in eighth position, but was already fourth in lap two.
Gwerder quickly had to release the role at the front, allowing Sacha Coenen to easily move up to P2. In the meantime, Geerts was in a fight with Adamo and it got nasty at times. Once again Camden MC Lellan was at the front, driving around in P3. On lap four Adamo passed Geerts to take 4thde to take a spot. The Italian posted the best round on the tables at that time.
Liam Everts was in P8 at the time and still had some work to do. Adamo, who went to get some advice from Rick Elzinga after the first series, now drove around with pepper in his ass and pulled towards Sacha Coenen's rear wheel. A little later he rode dominantly to second place, but he didn't think that was enough either. Jago Geerts was able to gain a spot by passing Mc Lellan, “The Jag” was now in P3.
In the meantime, Liam Everts had fallen into the wheel of Lucas Coenen. On this circuit it was quite an assignment to make up places with only one ideal driving line. Sacha Coenen then got MC Lellan from the JM Honda Racing Team on his roof, but defended his place with wide elbows. Adamo had followed leader Laengenfelder and was still not satisfied. The Italian was put back two places in series 1 because he made an overtaking maneuver during a yellow flag situation.
He then passed Laengenfelder and never looked back. In the meantime, Everts had passed teammate Sacha Coenen and was now in P6. His next prey was Kay the Wolf, but the remaining time was too short for that. Kevin Horgmo, who finished second in series one, now had to fight at the back due to a bad start.
De Wolf then closed the gap on Mc Lellan, but Everts also followed closely. In the last lap De Wolf passed Mc Lellan and finally took fourth place. Adamo wins the heat ahead of Laengenfelder and Geerts. Jago Geerts wins the MX2 Grand Prix ahead of Simon Laengenfelder and Kay de Wolf. He is approaching within 40 points of leader Adamo in the standings.
