Bax/Cermak win 2nd heat and Grand Prix Sidecars Bessenbach
Bax/Cermak managed to win the exciting 2nd Grand Prix heat in Strassbessenbach, Germany, thereby also winning the Grand Prix overall. Hermans/Van den Bogaart and Vanluchene/Musset came second and third and were also in the day's results.
A very exciting second heat was witnessed in Bessenbach! Vanluchene took the holeshot, but within a few laps Bax and Hermans were already behind Vanluchene. A nice and fair duel followed in which they rode like a rope behind each other and here and there attempts were made to overtake the leaders. Halfway through the race, Bax saw a gap and took the lead. Hermans was also able to join in and took second place from Vanluchene. This would also remain the case at the finish, with Bax who continued to distance himself a little further and was flagged as winner of the 2nd heat and the GP. Hermans had no choice but to follow and came second with Vanluchene in third place. Veldman/Lebraton finished fourth with Wilkinson/Millard in fifth place.
