Full score for Thonies and Buitenhuis in Wanssum
Loeka Thonies won the competition in the MX Open Inters class at the Meulebéék sports park in Wanssum. The JTX riders took both heat victories and thus earned the full 120 points from this competition. Second place went to Erik de Bruyn with a third and second place in the heats. Jamie Lucas took second place in the first heat. Due to a fall in the second moto, he did not get further than fifth place at the MX Open Inters. With this he was still allowed to go to the podium of honor. Fourth place went to Stan van Zoggel and Michon Voets completed the top five.
In the MX2 Inters class, the day's victory went to Kevin Buitenhuis for the fourth time this season. The Buitenhuis Racing driver took the full 120 points, just like Thonies. Second place was based on the second moto for Jarno Baauw with a third and second place in the motos. He thus kept Sasha Rutten behind him. Eric van Helvoirt and Bart Pijpers completed the top five in this class.
First heat
The round started with a disappointing number of twelve riders. It was Thonies who was the best way ahead of Voets, Lucas, De Bruyn and Van Zoggel. Thonies quickly gained a five-second lead. In the third lap Lucas passed Voets. However, the gap with Thonies was already there and only increased during the heat. For Voets this was the start of a decline that would end in fifth place. Both De Bruijn and Van Zoggel passed them during the heat. The heat victory went to Thonies with a lead of almost seven seconds. Lucas, in turn, had a nine-second lead over De Bruyn. Van Zoggel almost managed to close the gap with De Bruyn and followed in fourth place by more than one second. Voets saw the checkered flag twenty seconds behind in fifth place.
Second heat
It was again Thonies who took care of the holeshot ahead of Jeffrey van Kempen, de Bruyn, Lucas and van Zoggel. In the first lap Van Kempen fell far back, leaving Buitenhuis in fifth place. In the next round, Lucas also fell out of the top five. Fifth place was now taken by Voets. Thonies quickly had a lead of more than ten seconds over De Bruyn and was able to win the heat unthreatened. Behind him, De Bruyn had Van Zoggel behind him throughout the entire heat. De Bruyn eventually managed to keep Van Zoggel behind him and saw the checkered flag in second place. Buitenhuis was able to stay with the de Bruyn/Van Zoggel duo for a long time, but from halfway through the heat he slowly but surely fell behind. Towards the end of the heat, Voets managed to close the gap with Buitenhuis. However, the heat was too short to really make an attack and Voets took fourth place for Buitenhuis. After his fall, Lucas came close behind Voets. However, there was not enough time for a real attack and he was stranded at almost two seconds.
