Vanluchene/Musset win 2nd heat and the French GP!
Vanluchene/Musset won the very exciting second heat in Brou-France and with it the GP. Bax/Cermak were within a second to the finish, but the first heat winner finished second and also second overall in the GP. Hermans/Van den Bogaart now finished fourth and that was enough for a total third place on the day's podium.
Once again there was a holeshot for Bax, who immediately had Vanluchene at the rear wheel. These two sidecars would stay within a few seconds for the entire heat, even most of the heat within a second! Team Bax and Vanluchne produced a top-notch race. Vanluchene/Musset took the lead after ten minutes and, despite Bax poking left and right, did not give it away. Vanluchene won with Bax just behind. At third it was Wilkinson/Millard who were now able to join the start and who even seemed to be running towards the leaders. It didn't get that far, but third place was reward after hard work in the French heat. Hermans/Van den Bogaart were in battle with, among others, the German Prummer for a while and when they reached four they did not get any further than that. The Latvian brothers Lielbardis now finished fifth and kept Prunier behind them at six, who only took that place from Prummer/Steegmans at the very end.
