Van Weerdenburg does good business in Venlo
Last Saturday the fifth race for the MX2 youth of the Motorsport Organization Netherlands took place at MX Park Zaarderheiken. It was Alex van Weerdenburg who was the most consistent. With two heat victories, the DJR rider collected the full 120 points and also did excellent business in the championship standings. Second place went to Jaymian Ramakers with a third and second place in the heats. The lowest step on the podium went to Dani Koot with a second and fifth place in the heats. Amani Saraç ended the day in fourth place and Belgian Troy Dendooven completed the top five.
First heat
It was Saraç who managed to get the holeshot ahead of Van Weerdenburg, Dendooven, Ramakers and Koot. In the third lap it was Ramakers who made a mistake and fell back to fifth place. In the next round, Saraç fell and fell back to fourth place. The order was now: Van Weerdenburg, Dendooven, Koot, Saraç and Ramakers. Behind them, Bob Freriks had lost touch with the front five. Two laps later it was Koot who passed Dendooven and ended up in second place. After this, the front five kept each other in a status quo for laps. Without shifts in position, they remain close together. The only exception was Ramakers, who was ten seconds behind due to his mistake. He closed the gap lap after lap and on the penultimate lap he passed Saraç. In the last lap he also passed Dendooven. As a result, he finished third in the heat behind Van Weerdenburg and Koot. Dendooven also had to pass Saraç in the last round.
Second heat
It was again Saraç who was the best away from the starting gate ahead of van Weerdenburg, Koot, Stein Kanters and Boyd Eilers. Kanters and Eilers could not enjoy their top five position for long. Eilers lost a lot of time in the first lap and Kanters was overtaken by both Dendooven and Ramakers. In the fourth lap Ramakers also passed Dendooven and ended up in third place. Koot had already made a mistake before that and now Freriks was in fifth place. In the fifth lap it was Van Weerdenburg who took over the lead from Saraç and after this he quickly took the lead. Halfway through the heat, Ramakers also passed him. However, the gap with van Weerdenburg was already too big at eight seconds. Van Weerdenburg kept everything under control and took the heat victory ahead of Ramakers. Saraç followed seven seconds behind with Dendooven on his rear wheel. Koot followed within a few seconds, who had fought back to fifth place after his mistake
