We just received a press release from the Red Bull GasGas Factory Racing Team informing us that Simon Laengenfelder broke his right arm during training yesterday. Laengenfelder won both MX2 series in Spain on Sunday.
See the released press release here:
“Simon Langenfelder of Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing suffered an unfortunate injury to his right arm during training on Tuesday, May 9. The injury prevents him from building on the momentum he gained last weekend at the Spanish Grand Prix, where he stormed to a 250-1 result on his MC 1F.
Langenfelder currently sits fourth in the MX2 Championship standings, just four points behind the third-place rider, and has had a consistent start to the 2023 FIM Motocross World Championship. '516' has not dropped out of the top ten in any moto and won three of the twelve stints driven. Those triumphs were a clear sign of his exciting progress in the MX2 division.
The arm injury will of course keep him sidelined. More information about the timetable will be published in due course. Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing wishes the young star a speedy recovery. The team can't wait to see him back in action on his MC 250F.
Davide De Carli (Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing Team Manager): “Simon unfortunately fell during a normal training session yesterday and broke his right arm. He was immediately operated on last night by Dr. Nannarini and his team. I can't thank them enough! This is the worst thing in the sport, but I'm sure Simon will come back quickly and stronger.”
