Rain can't stop Thomas Chareyre
The first race of the FIM Supermoto World Championship was held in rainy conditions. At the Circuito Internationale di Busca, Thomas Chareyre became the first winner of the season. The Frenchman (1-2-1) won ahead of defending champion Marc-Reiner Schmidt (2-1-2) and Steve Bonnal (3-3-3). The three Belgians present performed well, Romain Kaivers was the best with tenth place.
Romeo Fiorentino (11th) and Nils Vandeberg (17th) also scored well just south of Turin. The next race is on May 20-21 at the Tramatza circuit, on the island of Sicily.
