No Car and Motorcycle Show in 2024
Febiac, the organizer of the annual Motor Show, announced yesterday that there will be no new organization in 2024. There is too little enthusiasm from the car industry and so next year will be canceled.
This year the 99th edition was held (Febiac made it the 100th) but a number of brands had already sent their cat in January. There were also no motorcycles present at the so-called Brussels Motor Show. The major stock exchanges are also disappearing rapidly in other countries. Geneva went bankrupt, Paris was decimated to half its size and Frankfurt was turned into a kind of mobility exchange without much success.
In Brussels, the Motor Show shrank to half its size before the corona crisis and attracted 265.000 visitors this year. That number was lower than the targeted 400.000. In the meantime, some major players have canceled and some even mention that it will be done forever. Fortunately, the major motorcycle fairs such as the EICMA in Milan and Intermot in Cologne are successful and are more than worthy alternatives for motorcycle enthusiasts.
