KTM enduro 2024: Made to push boundaries
The 2024 KTM Enduro series consists of no less than 95 percent new components and sets the bar higher than ever. Thanks to the all-new frame, revolutionary closed cartridge shock absorbers, optimized bodywork, LED headlight and leading technology, the latest generation of KTM Enduro machines are ready for any challenge.
KTM can boast more than three decades of experience in racing and more than 126 World Enduro titles. As a result, the Austrian manufacturer is still the brand of choice for the best riders who participate in the toughest races in the world. Thanks to its most radical transformation yet, the 2024 EXC range allows KTM to once again set new standards when it comes to performance, development and innovation.
The completely new hydroformed, laser-cut and robot-welded frame forms the backbone of the 2024 KTM Enduro range. This frame offers ideal longitudinal and torsional stiffness for exceptional feedback, maximum energy absorption and unparalleled straight-line stability. This is also the foundation on which the 2024 model series is built.
The 2024 KTM EXC and EXC-F models are equipped with an all-new 48mm WP XACT front fork. This has a closed cartridge with a newly designed piston that has a valve in the middle. This optimizes the oil flow in the cartridge.
The proven PDS shock absorber system also returns in the KTM Enduro models and has been further optimized for this model year and perfectly matched to the new frame. The system has been supplemented with a new WP XPLOR PDS rear shock absorber.
The compression and damping of the suspension can be adjusted completely by hand, both at the front and at the rear. This is very easy to achieve with the help of so-called clickers, without having to use tools. The spring preload of the shock absorber can also be adjusted in this way.
The new lightweight two-piece subframe, made from a combination of polyamide and reinforced aluminium, is particularly robust and guarantees optimal driving behavior and precise feedback. All electronic components, including a completely new Offroad Control Unit, are fully integrated into this subframe. This makes them easy to reach and better protected.
The 2024 KTM Enduro series also features new bodywork. This was developed based on feedback from the Red Bull KTM Factory Racing riders and provides better grip because the rider has more knee contact, especially when he or she stands on the footpegs.
The newly designed front fender is equipped with fins that ensure that less dirt and mud ends up on the rider or radiator. The shape is completed by the new XPE fuel tanks of 8,3 liters (on four-stroke models) and 8,9 liters (on two-stroke models). These tanks made of polyethylene are transparent, making it easy to monitor the fuel level at all times.
The electronics are monitored by a fully independent Offroad Control Unit under the seat, eliminating the need for electronic fuses and relays. In the event of a fault in an electrical component, the outputs are switched off individually. A red or green LED fault light indicates the status of each component, making it easier to troubleshoot on-site.
The series of two-stroke models reclaims its place as the leader of the paddock thanks to the new electronic Throttle Body Injection technology. This technology, TBI for short, ensures ultra-smooth power delivery and eliminates the need to manually adjust the fuel ratio at different altitudes.
The reed valve housing also received a major design update. Plastic flaps have been fitted to the outside of the housing to ensure a better sealing of the inlet path. This new design prevents too much fuel from entering the engine when going up or down a slope, which could cause the fuel mixture to become too rich.
An additional advantage of the new electronic fuel injection and the ECU is that a new electronic exhaust gas control could be implemented. This allows two different engine mappings and these can be set via an optional map selector switch.
The 2024 KTM EXC two-stroke model range consists of the following engines:
- KTM 150 EXC
- KTM 250 EXC
- KTM 300 EXC
The four-stroke series offers the most extensive range. All models feature a class-leading engine developed to deliver enormous torque at lower revs and explosive power delivery at higher revs.
The center of gravity was improved by tilting the engine back two degrees and moving the front sprocket three millimeters lower. This greatly improves driving behavior and maneuverability. In addition to the optimized mass centralization and reduced weight, the significantly improved anti-squat behavior of the chassis also ensures more traction on extreme slopes and when accelerating from corners during special enduro stages.
The 2024 KTM EXC-F can be optionally equipped for the first time with traction control and, uniquely for an enduro, a Quickshifter. This makes it possible to shift up from second to sixth gear without using the clutch. Riders can maintain throttle while shifting and have more control over their machine. The traction control and Quickshifter can be switched on or off using the optional and newly designed map selector switch.
The 2024 KTM EXC-F four-stroke series consists of the following models:
- KTM 250 EXC-F
- KTM 350 EXC-F
- KTM 450 EXC-F
- KTM 500 EXC-F
The many years at the top of the Enduro competition have yielded a lot of knowledge and insights and these come together in the KTM Enduro series for 2024. The models offer a dynamic combination of race-inspired performance, fine ergonomics and excellent technology. As a result, the new KTM Enduros do not hesitate to push boundaries, regardless of the terrain.
Thanks to KTM's global dealer network, the support and parts needed to compete at the highest level are, as always, readily available. Added to this are the special KTM PowerWear and KTM PowerParts, which are designed to offer all off-road riders and racers the highest level of performance, protection and mobility.
The all-new 2024 KTM EXC and EXC-F models will be available from authorized KTM dealers from June. For more information, visit ktm.com.
