Jeffrey Herlings remains undefeated in the DMoMX
With two moto victories, Jeffrey Herlings has won the final of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 500cc. The KTM rider won on the fantastic 'Circuit De Bargen' ahead of MXGP colleagues Romain Febvre (2-2) and Jeremy Seewer (4-3). After four titles in the MX2/250cc, this is the third title in the MX1/500cc for the 28-year-old Brabander.

With a 14 point lead over Febvre, Herlings starts the race at Stichting Circuit Oldebroek. When the starting gate drops, Seewer takes the best start for the protagonists of the championship. Petar Petrov and reigning champion Calvin Vlaanderen follow while Brent Van Doninck is included in midfield. In the first lap Herlings takes the lead and at the end of the waves Febvre puts his Kawasaki on the inside of Seewer. This then goes well, allowing Flanders to come third in the first round ahead of the 28-year-old Swiss. This means that the top four of this competition are known because nothing will change after that. Herlings wins with about 20 seconds ahead of Febvre. Flanders leaves Seewer behind without many problems. Van Doninck needs some time to get into the game

In the second heat there is not a good start for Herlings while competitor Febvre takes the lead for Seewer. However, the winner of the French GP will soon see Flanders pass. Herlings just made it into the top ten over the first big table mountain to finish fifth behind Van Doninck in the first round. In five laps 'The Bullet' worked his way to second place, but he was already quite behind leader Febvre. However, it is the KTM rider who takes the lead and manages to close the gap of almost ten seconds. The Kawasaki rider is overtaken, but he does not give up easily and when Herlings crashes after the waves, Febvre takes back the lead! The audience runs from left to right across the circuit and right at the back next to the edge of the forest, Herlings strikes. He sends inside and forces Febvre to go out of bounds. Herlings, despite an exciting moment with Lars van Berkel, wins the second round ahead of Febvre and Seewer. Van Donick is now fourth for Flanders, who also crashed in the same place as Herlings, but he was thrown hard from his Gebben-Van Venrooij-Yamaha.
Next time:
The KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross is over for 2023 and it has been a very successful competition. There are only three competitions, but both the field of participants and the organization are of a high level. The competitions for next season will also be organized by the clubs in Harfsen, Markelo and Oldebroek.
