European Enduro Championship: Dietger Damiaens twice second in Portugal
The start of the 2023 Borilli Enduro European Championship Round 2# took place last Saturday in Santa Marta de Penaguiao (Portugal) under a beautiful sun. Our only rider to make the move was Dietger Damiaens who finished second in the European Enduro E3 Championship on both the first and second days behind Frenchman David Abgrall.
With two games to go (4 days), Dietger is second in the championship standings, 12 points behind Abgrall. The next round will be held on July 15 and 16 in Estonia and the last on September 16 and 17 in Poland.
Dietger Damiaens: “Saturday started very well. I felt good on the difficult rocky and dusty terrain. At the end of the 2nd lap I was hanging 1st in my class and 4th overall until disaster struck. In the middle of the cross test, a piece of wood got stuck in my bike, causing the bike to stop. I had lost a lot of time with this. In the service afterwards we tried to work on the bike as much as possible and I still could have ended the day on a good note.
