Janis Reisulis takes the DMoMX title again
In a particularly sunny Oldebroek, Janis Reisulis secured his second KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross 125cc title. The Yamaha rider won the first heat while Kasimir Hindersson did not get further than fifth place. That was enough for the Latvian to successfully defend the title. Reisulis won the race at Stichting Circuit Oldebroek with two victories ahead of Damien Knuiman (3-3) and the Czech Julius Mikula (2-5).
1e some
Earlier this year in Harfsen, Mikula did not get beyond the time training when he suffered a leg injury. The MJC rider takes the lead in the first heat after Elias Escandell emerged from the first corner as the leader. Damien Knuiman follows in third place ahead of Roan Tolsma and Reisulis. At the start of the second lap, Tolsma crashes, forcing him to make a pit stop. Reisulis works very controlled towards the rear wheel of his teammate who is in the lead. Just in the first half of the match, Reisulis briefly takes the lead, but Mikula comes back. After 15 minutes of the match, it is Reisulis who takes back the lead and now does not relinquish it. Escandell follows at a safe distance, but the Spanish 125cc champion leaves the race early due to a crash. Earlier, his Fantic colleague Maximillian Werner disappeared from the race after a crash. Knuiman takes over third place and the student from Wijchen will not relinquish this place. Maximillian Ernecker is good for fourth place, followed by Hindersson. However, the Finn had to finish in the top three to postpone the party at Reisulis. The Motivation Motorsport driver therefore finished fifth, meaning his chance of winning the title disappeared.
2e some
After the initial celebrations, Reisulis comes out on top at the start of the second heat. The Yamaha rider leads the entire race and wins by almost 30 seconds ahead of Escandell. The rider from the island of Ibiza still receives pressure from Knuiman in the final phase, but the Stirling Racing rider also has to settle for third place in this round. In the initial phase of this race over 20 minutes and one lap, Douwe Van Mechgelen is in fourth place. However, after three rounds he loses this to Mikula. However, after more than 15 minutes of racing, he has to make way for Hindersson, who crosses the finish line in fourth ahead of Mikula. Van Mechgelen, who was already active in Denmark on Saturday and Sunday, sent his Husqvarna after a neat sixth place in his first season on the 125cc!
