Last week in Frauenfeld, Janis Martins Reisulis won the first round. The Yamaha rider also starts the weekend well during the second race of the European 125cc Championship. The MJC rider wins on the Arco di Trento circuit ahead of Maximilian Werner and Maximilian Ernecker. Gyan Doensen achieved a good fourth place, the Belgians Ian Ampoorter (28th) and Douwe Van Mechgelen (29th) did not score any points but gained important experience.
When the starting gate drops for the first race over 25 minutes and two laps, Doensen takes the best start. The Limburger is followed by Ernecker, Werner and Reisulis who quickly works his way forward. Before the start of the first full lap, the Latvian takes the lead. He then no longer hands this over. In the initial phase, Werner seemed to be able to follow suit, but the German had to settle for second place later in the race. The Austrian Ernecker provides an exciting final, but the F4E Racing driver still has to settle for third place. Doensen comes fourth while Elias Escandell completes the top five. Mathis Valin crashed in the first corner, the Frenchman returns to eighteenth place, but the GasGas rider loses the lead in the standings to Reisulis.
The second heat will be held tomorrow morning, the starting gate will be at 09.45 am.
