Jannes Vos satisfied with the first EMX85
The first race of the European Championship 85cc Central Europe was held on the famous Lommel circuit. The competition in the Belgian sand went well for Jannes Vos. The KTM rider finished tenth in the daily rankings. The victory at 'Circuit De Heeserbergen' went to Dani Heitink.
To save costs, Europe is divided into four regions. Each region has 'qualifiers' and the best 20 per region go to the semi-finals. This will be held at the end of June at the Axel circuit. There, the best 20 qualify for the grand final in the Czech Republic. This race will be held as part of the FIM MXGP-MX2 World Championship at the Loket circuit.
The rider, who has been supported by Lasbedrijf Alphen for years, managed to qualify for the competitions on Easter Sunday without any problems on Saturday. The start of the first heat over 20 minutes and two laps is good and the South Hollander starts the race in the top ten. He then lets himself eat the cheese for a while, causing him to drop back to thirteenth place. Fortunately, the MotoXshop rider manages to recover and enters the top ten in the first half of the race. It's a hard fight, but Jannes manages to hold on to tenth place until the checkered flag falls!
The start of the second round is also good and the rider sponsored by Vlasman comes ninth from the first round. A small mistake causes second places to be lost. These are quickly regained, but halfway through the match mistakes creep in again, causing the pace to be lost somewhat. The rider from Reeuwijk is not completely satisfied with twelfth place, but he is a good tenth in the daily rankings.
Next weekend the EMX85 will continue in Denmark on April 23, followed by the second race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross in Markelo.
