1e some
Kooiker has been the fastest in time training and he also makes the best start in the first heat. De Staphorster takes the best start for Heitink, Keano Maris, Gregoire and Bervoets. In the second corner Maris chooses the outside, causing Gregoire to immediately gain a spot. In the woods, Bervoets manages to work his way up to fourth place, after which the foursome distance themselves from the pursuers. Maris then battles with Dex van den Broek for fifth place. The rider from Deurne takes over fifth place, but he then has to settle for the chase. Well into the second half of the race things get active when Bervoets takes over third place from Gregoire. In the next round, Heitink must make way for the 14-year-old Belgian. Then the crowd prepares for a duel for the lead, but that doesn't happen right away. Bervoets makes a mistake and falls hard. Fortunately he can continue, but he drops back to fifth place just ahead of Timo Heuver. The leader in the ONK tries to take over fifth place, but that does not work. At the front, Gregoire attacks Heitink and the Brabander takes over second place. In the last lap, the 12-year-old rider tries to take the lead in the 'Markeldome', but Kooiker prevents this. The WZ Racing rider wins the round ahead of Gregoire and Heitink. Van den Broek rides a lonely race and finishes fourth ahead of Bervoets.
2e some
The best start during the second heat goes to Kooiker, but he is immediately attacked by Heitink who takes the lead in the second corner. Gregoire slips into second place, causing Kooiker to drop back to third place, followed by Bervoets and Van den Broek. In the woods, Kooiker and Heitink get into trouble while Bervoets returns as leader in sight from the starting area. In the initial phase, Bervoets seems to distance himself from Gregoire, who follows at 2,6 seconds. However, this rider from Geldrop takes the lead in the fourth lap and he will not relinquish it. The lead increases lap after lap and consists of a maximum of 17 seconds. Kooiker fights like a lion and comes back from sixth place to second ahead of Bervoets. He is still trying to recover, but the crash of the first moto is still bothering him. Kooiker crosses the finish line second ahead of Bervoets. Van den Broek is now also good for fourth place and Heitink comes back to fifth place after coming out of the first round in 15th!
The last race of the KNMV Dutch Masters of Motocross will be held on Whit Monday. The new champions will be announced on May 29 at the Oldebroek circuit.
