Doensen comes second, Valin wins the overall
The first heat did not go smoothly for Gyan Doensen, but he took revenge in the second heat. The KTM rider crosses the finish line second behind Mathis Valin who takes the overall in Frauenfeld. The GasGas rider wins the first race of the European Championship 125cc Presented by FMF Racing with a second and first place. Vitezslav Marek (4-3) finishes second ahead of title favorite Janis Martins Reisulis (1-11).
Doensen makes a great start in the second moto, Escandell arrives earlier in the first corner, but the Limburger turns nicely inside and takes the lead. Escandell, Reisulis and the Hungarian Noel Zanocz follow the 85 2022cc world champion. The winner of the first round quickly emerges and so does Valin! The pupil of former EMX250 champion Valentin Teillet. Both then pass Doensen and distance themselves. After almost ten minutes, leader Reisulis makes a mistake and his steering wheel is damaged in the crash. Valin takes the lead and wins ahead of Doensen. This is briefly attacked by Escandell, but the Spaniard later has to slow down so that Marek can still pass. The Czech finishes third ahead of Escandell and Nicola Salvini. Unfortunately there are no points for Damian Knuiman now.
Next weekend the championship will continue at the Arco di Trento circuit where the EMX250 will also be in action.
