Kevin Horgmo eighth in Swiss GP
F&H Kawasaki Racing's Kevin Horgmo had to go deep during the third round of the MX2 World Championship in Frauenfeld, Switzerland. This was due to a difficult qualifying heat, which meant that Horgmo did not have a good starting position in both heats on Sunday and had to come from far away both times.
The starting field in Frauenfeld was not ideal and in order to get a good start, a place on the inside was valuable. Due to the setback in the qualifying heat, Horgmo did not have a good starting position and had to get back to the front from midfield in both heats. In both motos he struck immediately on the first lap, but otherwise it was difficult to overtake. Horgmo fought to the end and managed to finish ninth and seventh, placing him eighth in the overall standings. In the world championship standings, Horgmo is in seventh place after three games.
Kevin Horgmo:
“Obviously we didn't get the results we had hoped for, but we bounced back as best we could after the setback we had on Saturday. In the first moto I started in the midfield, but thanks to a number of quick overtaking maneuvers I came back well and eventually managed to finish ninth. In the second moto I had a similar start but this time it took a while to get into my rhythm. As the race progressed things started to improve and in the final stages I was close to gaining another position but ended up seventh.
David Braceras fought just outside the top ten in both motos, scoring the most points in his rookie season so far. A fifteenth and thirteenth place in the heats ensured that Braceras finished fourteenth in the overall standings. This is also his position in the world championship standings.
David Braceras:
“It was a positive weekend for me with a fifteenth and thirteenth place in the heats. I also scored my first top ten place in a qualifying heat. I have taken small steps in the right direction and I am happy with that. In the first moto I rode a bit too cramped, so I didn't have a good rhythm. In the second moto I felt much better and was more satisfied with my riding. There's more to it and I'm ready to put in the work to get there.
