Tomac wins Daytona for the seventh time
For the seventh time, Eli Tomac has won the Supercross at the Daytona International Speedway. The Yamaha rider managed to take victory ahead of rivals Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton. After eight races, the difference between the top three in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 450SX is only ten points.
The key players of this championship come together from the first corner. Tomac takes the lead in the final ahead of Webb and Sexton. Justin Barcia follows in fourth place ahead of Christian Craig and his teammate RJ Hampshire! It quickly becomes clear that Webb has his sights set on victory as he goes on the attack and takes the lead. Just in the first half of the race, Webb makes a mistake after the Yamaha rider has been increasing the pressure for laps. Tomac takes the lead and doesn't look back to win for the seventh time in Daytona. Sexton has to be satisfied with third place and he is under heavy pressure from Barcia. The GasGas rider even collides with Sexton, but 'BamBam' still finishes fourth ahead of Jason Anderson.
Next week the championship will be hosted in Indianapolis.
