Roczen gives Suzuki victory, Webb the leader
A special evening for Ken Roczen because he gives Suzuki another Supercross victory after 2607 days. The German wins the ninth round of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 450SX ahead of Justin Barcia and Cooper Webb. Because Eli Tomac cannot get further than eighth place, the KTM rider takes over the lead in the standings.
When the starting gate goes down, Roczen takes the best start ahead of Sexton who does not get over the first hurdle and drops back to fifth place. Adam Cianciarulo takes second place ahead of Webb and Justin Hill. Sexton comes back from second after Webb failed to displace Roczen from the lead. The Honda rider then makes a mistake and falls. In the second half of the match about 20 minutes and a lap, Barcia comes up. He passes Webb to later increase the pressure on Roczen. However, the Suzuki rider does not bow down and he wins the final ahead of 'BamBam' and Webb. Tomac is not feeling well in the match and even has to bow to Christian Craig. The Yamaha rider finished eighth and thus lost the 'Redplate' to Webb!
Next week the championship will be hosted in Detroit.
