Kay de Wolf about his moto victory
The first Grand Prix on European soil went well for the Husqvarna-Nestaat Team. Kay de Wolf came second and achieved a heat victory. Lucas Coenen finished fifth and Roan van de Moosdijk finished seventh in the overall standings. The three riders talk about their day at the “Crossodromo Comunale Le Dune”.
Kay de Wolf:
“There were a few mistakes at the end of the day, which didn't make it easy. It's hard to be so close to victory and still finish second, especially after winning the first moto. We came here for a podium and that is of course the most important thing. We'll have to fight every weekend now. I am ready to go to the hard-pack competitions because I have improved over the winter.”
Lucas Coenen:
“I didn't have any good starts all weekend. I had to fight hard in the first moto and came back to sixth place. I almost passed two more riders, but I wasn't aggressive enough. I had a better start in the second moto, but it was still not good. I finished fourth pretty quickly. I tried to push for third place, but I just couldn't get by. We are improving every weekend, so we are now going to train again.”
Roan van de Moosdijk:
“I've been sick all week and I felt it today. I didn't have the best start in the first moto and couldn't improve to seventh or maybe sixth place, so I finished eighth. I fought on in the second moto and now finished fifth but I used up all my energy today. It was a positive end to the Grand Prix and we will continue to build and grow throughout the season.”
