Update: Antoine Magain wins ahead of Tim Louis and Henson Lievens in Enter
The Belgian Inters enduro riders were guests in Enter last Saturday to start their season. The competition was part of the Dutch championship. The weather conditions made it difficult for the race management and had to reduce the number of laps and cancel some stages.
A difficult event, in which Antoine Magain was again the best Belgian rider. However, the official Sherco rider is satisfied with sixth place in the scratch classification of the day. Just behind him, in seventh place, we find another Sherco, that of Tim Louis, who is starting his collaboration with Sherco Belgium on a good note.
The Belgian podium is completed by Henson Lievens, while Dante Nijs and Wim Vanderheyden complete the top 5. Dietger Damiaens was injured in a fall at the end of the day. Erik Willems, still recovering from a crash in the European Championship last October, was absent from this opening round of the season. Of the 350 registered riders in Enter, only 17 were Belgian.
The Belgian enduro season opens for all categories with the race in Mettet on April 9.
Update: In retrospect, our information about Dietger Damiaens turned out to be incorrect. He was in the lead all day and retired with engine trouble during the final test.
