Slovenian company develops electric off-road machine
The Slovenian company Flux Performance is developing an electrically powered machine suitable for motocross and enduro. The company's name seems inspired by “Back to the Future”, the well-known 1985 film starring Michael J. Fox. Flux Performance communicates with impressive figures about their machine.
We already alluded to this start-up last year. There is talk of 85 hp, 6,7 kWH, theft protection, 750Nm torque, a virtual clutch, aluminum twin-spar frame, KYB forks, Ohlins shock and so much more. The Slovenians are clearly serious about this project. Development started a year ago, but since then Flux has apparently had the same problems as most manufacturers worldwide with supply problems.
But interest remains high and these latest images of the Primo model, which they say is well on its way to becoming a homologated real motorcycle. The Primo looks similar to a full-sized enduro and dirt bike, unlike some other e-motorcycles on the market, which have smaller geometries and lower suspensions.
With these objectives, they will be a direct competitor of the Stark Varg in the future, which is currently being delivered at a slow pace. Unlike the Varg, the Primo gets a removable battery and a gearbox with a two-step reduction. The virtual clutch helps you at full throttle without having to worry about clutch plates, springs, clutch cages and slipping plates.
CEO Marko Ukota about his project: “In my 15 years of racing, I have experienced first-hand the frustration of closed circuits and high maintenance costs. I believe electric propulsion can dramatically expand motorcycling to people and places never before possible, while offering a world of new digital possibilities to drive performance. That is why Flux Performance was founded. I am very excited to develop this new era with my brilliant teammates. The Primo is our proof of concept, it's what we can do in a garage. This is just the beginning.”
The intention is to sell the machine for 12.000 euros. You can place a pre-order by depositing 50 euros. This way you show your interest to the investors. You can always reclaim your 50 euros, even if the company has to close. The Primo is a first prototype, so the machine is not yet for sale. You can find all information at https://fluxmoto.co
