Webb finally starts on the top step again
After almost two years, Cooper Webb has finally won another Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship race. The KTM rider managed to take victory in Tampa ahead of Chase Sexton and Aaron Plessinger. Eli Tomac crosses the finish line in fifth place and loses part of his lead. The Yamaha rider still has a two-point difference with Sexton.
In the final Plessinger has a very good start but he goes wide and sees teammate Webb win the 'Holeshot Award'. Sexton follows and he takes the lead before the second corner. Adam Cianciarulo follows in fourth place ahead of Ken Roczen who is surprised a little later by Justin Cooper. Not a good start for Tomac who emerged from the first corner narrowly in the top ten. Up front, Sexton tries to control the match, but Webb does not lose sight of him. Some pinpricks follow, but Sexton is not surprised. Then with more than two minutes to go the leader makes a mistake. Sexton falls and that gives Webb the win and Sexton comes in second so he doesn't take over the redplate. Plessinger completes KTM's success by finishing third ahead of Roczen and Tomac.
The circus will travel 4500 miles back to California for the rescheduled competition in Oakland.
