Tom Vialle: “I'm disappointed, but I learned a lot!”
Tom Vialle's debut in the AMA Supercross was last weekend in Houston. It was the first race in the USA of his career. A successful first time for the two-time MX2 World Champion as he made a strong impression and was able to lead the field for two laps.
A crash pushed him back to 7th place at the finish. A small disappointment for the Red Bull KTM rider who sees his first American podium slip away. He is reassured about his potential in a series in which he has just completed his first laps.
"I was a little nervous on the first test,” said Vialle. “But as the day progressed I felt more and more at ease. At the start of my heat I was stressed again because it was my first Supercross in a stadium at night. However, I had a good start and was able to finish 3rd. I was happy."
"I also had a good start in the final“, continued the Frenchman, “I even took the lead for two laps. With five laps to go, I was in third place. Then I missed my rear brake at the start of a corner and crashed. I'm disappointed that the chance for a podium position eluded me. But overall it was a good day, I learned a lot."
The championship continues this weekend in Tampa, Florida.
