SuperEnduro Cup: Dan Peace is the new champion
The SuperEnduro Cup was back in action for the second and final round of the season. It was an amazing and exciting weekend at the Papp Lazlo Sport Arena in Budapest, together with the third GP of the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.
12.000 fans followed and experienced the adventures of all the top riders of the European Cup and the World Championship. After winning the first round in Germany, the British Dan Peace (Sherco) confirmed his role as leader. Although he did not take victory in any of the races, the Sherco driver managed to climb to second place overall in the GP won by Alessandro Azzalini (GASGAS).
The young Italian showed a lot of power and won the first race ahead of Peace and crowd favorite Roland Liszka (KTM). Race two was great because of the chaos. Sixth in race 1, home hero Mark Szoke (SHERCO) took the final corner on the last lap and had the Hungarian crowd going wild. Thanks to fourth place in race 2, Azzalini took the overall standings in Budapest, ahead of Peace and Szoke, who confirmed his lead in the standings by winning the European Cup.
