Jett Lawrence continues to rack up the wins
In Oakland, Jett Lawrence recorded his third victory of the season. The Honda rider won round four of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship 250SX West Coast ahead of Rj Hampshire and Cameron McAdoo. In the standings, the Australian is already twenty points ahead of Hampshire, McAdoo has 21 points less than the leader.
When the starting gate goes down in the Ring Central Coliseum Hampshire takes the best start, immediately followed by McAdoo, Lawrence, Matt Moss and Maximus Vohland. The Suzuki rider quickly loses touch with fellow countryman Lawrence, causing the top three to quickly distance themselves. Pierce Brown comes out of the first lap in fourth place, but he is already four seconds behind! The GasGas driver manages to eliminate this deficit in three laps, leaving a quartet in the lead. Lawrence takes over second place from McAdoo who feels Brown's hot breath on his neck. After almost five minutes of the race, Hampshire seems to get some space from Lawrence, but at that moment the Husqvarna rider falls. In the first corner he slides and loses the lead to Lawrence. The leader in the standings takes control of the match and therefore also wins in Oakland. Hampshire manages to catch up with McAdoo and he comes second ahead of the Kawasaki rider. Levi Kitchen started the race outside the top ten, but he fought back very well to finish fourth ahead of Brown, who made a mistake in his hunt for McAdoo.
The West Coast will not be in action again until March 25, next week it will be the 'EastCoast' again with their match in Arlington.
