Fracture of femur for Tim Gajser
The nasty crash that Tim Gajser made yesterday in Arco di Trento has major consequences. This morning there was a press release from HRC Honda stating that he broke his right femur in the fall.
This means that the five-time world champion will not be able to defend his world title because the MXGP season starts in Argentina in three weeks. See HRC Honda's press release here:
“Tim Gajser from Team HRC is in the second round of the Italian International Championship in Arco di Trento fell. He had a serious fall after a big jump and had to be taken off the track by medics.
After a full check-up in hospital, it was discovered that Gajser had broken his right femur and will now undergo surgery to repair the injury. Once that surgery takes place, it will be easier to determine a timetable for his return, but for now we wish Tiga the best of luck with his surgery and hope he is back to full health soon.
Gajser had just finished second in the first round at the Trentino circuit and used the Italian series as a warm-up for the start of the 2023 MXGP World Championship, where he would attempt to defend his fifth world title, which he won in 2022.”
