Angry Amandine Verstappen criticizes the FFM calendar policy
Yesterday, our compatriot Amandine Verstappen made an unmistakable response to the French motorsport federation FFM. Turns out the first matches and finals of both the WMX World Championship and the French Championship coincide.
Amandine Verstappen: “I would like to encourage the people responsible for the FFM calendars! How is it possible to place two World Championship events at the same time as two French Championship events WHEN the World Championship calendar is released well before the FFM, so don't tell me it wasn't possible to adapt!
In the world championship we have six events in a year, so don't tell me it's not possible to adapt, even if I repeat myself! Thirteen important weekends over 365 days and we still manage to have matches take place at the same time. And when I ask for an explanation I am told “YOU HAVE TO MAKE A CHOICE AMANDINE”.
I speak for myself, but also for the other girls who participate in the European Championship for women and who have three events that coincide with the French Championship for women, I find this unacceptable! The two events are the opening and final of the World and French Championships! What should I do? And the transfer of points is not even certain! 😤 We want to evolve women's sports, but it's not like we're going to evolve it. In the meantime, I'll see you in Le Touquet.”
